Need new tires for the Sienna.

Kinja'd!!!

Debating between Bridgestone Dueller H/L 422; General Grabber HTS (lt); and Firestone Destination LE2.

Sienna’s are known for going through tires every 20k miles, so I want something substantial. The suspension is marshmallows, so sidewall thickness doesn’t matter. I want something in the $125-150 range that’s going to last and be able to handle inclement weather.

I don’t see Michelins on your list. This list is forfeit!

Do they have to be runflats? What year Sienna?

My sister in law’s family has an ‘11 Sienna and the dealership they bought it from sold them “Lifetime tires” after the first set they wore out. The requirement was that you bring it to the dealer for an inspection and alignment check (paid of course) every 7500 miles. He’s now on his third set from that purchase. He’s had to argue with them a few times - like the time the worn tie rod end was the “cause” - Hey, it’s you guys inspecting it! Etc. Best deal ever!

Side note - I’m completely disgusted at how quickly those things eat tires.

Probably a dumb question but have you looked at the reviews on Tire Rack?

I can’t tell from the way you wrote it: Are the inspections covered by the dealer, or do your in-laws pay for the inspections? If it’s the former, then yea, it may be a great deal. If it’s the latter, it seems like they got taken.

No, they have to pay for the inspections. But it’s been far less than what they would have spent on tires so far. It’s a nominal fee, like $49 for the inspection and $75 if the alignment is needed. He went into it knowing how quickly they were going through tires, and how much the tires cost, and he’s a financially careful guy.

Check out Toyos. I’ve had really good luck with their tires on several vehicles, and when my newly acquired Sienna needs new boots that’s what I’ll be looking at.

What size? Recommending tires is useless without it.

Duratracs really are incredible. Excellent tires for just about anything.

They are going on my Sonoma next spring. Terrible for the highway, probably. Look sweet? You betcha!

They’re actually great highway tires, for off-road tires, anyway. Very quiet, smooth ride, good traction.
